How David Dobrik Makes Millions By Selling a Feeling

David’s “How I make money” video is spent jumping into pools. That’s the entire point.

On July 18, 2026, David Dobrik released a YouTube video titled, “How I make money.”

By simply looking at the description, the video seems purely business-related. David travels to Cannes where he networks with Dhar Mann, Snapchat CEO Evan Spiegel, and other media A-listers.

But while he’s actively looking to secure brand deals and creator collaborations, David’s also partying, jumping in pools, dancing with strangers, and radiating the same spontaneous energy that made him famous.

The whole thing seems like a regular David Dobrik vlog rather than a business crash course, but the title, “How I make money,” is far from clickbait.

The real fortune is the feeling you experience when David gives you a glimpse into his life. That feeling is his product.

The pranks, partying, and pool-jumping are supported by David’s genuinely substantial creative ventures.

David started his pizza restaurant Doughbrik’s, co-founded the photo app Dispo, co-hosted the Views Podcast, and collaborated with countless high profile brands.

Everything runs on David’s most valuable asset, which is the feeling audiences associate with him.

Brands could easily partner with another creator of similar follower count, but they choose David Dobrik to rent access to an emotion their target customer already knows and loves.

If you look at YouTube's top subscriber list, you’d probably find a dozen names you don’t recognize. Follower counts are losing their value.

In David Dobrik’s, “How I make money” video, he doesn’t record an intense negotiation with a rich investor. Instead, he shows you exactly how he makes money: by trademarking a specific emotional texture that can’t be commoditized, because the emotion and David himself are inseparable.

Most creators ask themselves, “How do I get more views?”

David Dobrik, at the highest level, has proved that the real question you should be asking is,

“How do I give my viewers an experience they can’t forget?”
