The 73rd annual Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity returns from June 22-26, spotlighting the creators shaping advertising and marketing. It’s widely regarded as the world’s premier global showcase for advertising and marketing.

This year, the festival’s creator showcase, LIONS Creators, is moving from the rooftop of the Palais des Festivals to a larger beachfront presence.

Every year, the largest corporations on Earth transform outdoor restaurants along the beach into large pop-up activities, making the beachfront the festival’s main stage.

Dhar Mann, Steven Bartlett, and Hannah Stocking will be speaking alongside creative leaders from TikTok, Twitch, Gap, and more.

Creators now have a seat at the table.

It’s recognition that creators are drivers of the future.

Here’s what truly shows the shift in creator influence:

The festival’s focus is on integrating AI and automation into a brand’s creative processes.

It’s not “growing your social media following” or “finding ways to go viral.”

The focus is a legitimate topic that isn’t solely applicable to social media. Only experts can meaningfully contribute to that conversation.

The creator beach showcase, in the context of what the biggest brands covet, is much more than a promotion.

At the biggest scale, it’s recognition that creators drive the future.

For over 70 years, the advertising industry met at the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity to discuss ideas that would shape the future of advertising.

Since the creator economy’s creation, there has always been a barrier between mainstream advertising and creator advertising.

In 2026, LIONS Creators showed that this line is disappearing quickly. Creators with defined identities, genuine influence, and legible businesses are sharing the stage with billion-dollar brands.

However, the creators that cannot differentiate will be watching this revolution from the outside.

So what side will you be on?
